I am starting a new section today on scrapping storage. For most scrappers this becomes an issue and can be a bit of a problem. I found with myself that my storage ideas had to change based on the volume of products I have. A pizza box is totally fine for paper if you have 20 sheets but does not work when you have 200.
When I started scrapping I had all my stuff in a tool box and used all kids of little boxes for storing other things. This will no longer work.
Most scrappers say that they have two big problems, the first one is to find time to scrap and the second is taking their stuff out to scrap and then putting everything back again. I have a scrapping cupboard with all my stuff and then I use a small table to scrap on (about 1m by 0,5 meters). I stand and scrap....have always.
So for storage this box by Craft Mates is one of the best things I have ever bought.
It has a little safety feature so if you open one box the others can stay closed so if it should fall I don't have to re-arrange 10 million little brads.
It realy works well and if you can see the little "things" you will use them.
With scrapping I do think "out of sight - out of mind" we forget about the stuff we can not see.
The second thing for today is this little perspex suitcase/box.
I found it at a place called Piperfox (011 803 0195) at around R15 each. You need a VAT number to buy from them.....make a plan.
It is about 22 cm by 17cm and I decided to use if for my ribbons - but you can use if for alot of other stuff (I even think it will make great party packs for kids)
So maybe you can give some of this a try. I will feature more storage ideas every week. It is so important to be organized with your scrap stuff. If you were looking for something like a green brad - you should be able to find one quickly!
For me the organizing of the scrap stuff is almost an extra hobby. If you have any great storage ideas that you would like to share please email me.
