The great thing about special events (like Valentines Day) is we can share our creativity with other people. So, I thought if we can decorate the house for Christmas - surely we can make something for the house for Valentines day.
My project is this Valentines banner. I still need to add some hanging ribbon on the top...but thought I would post it anyway.
For this project I first cut a heart template from a piece of 6" x 6" paper. I then traced it on some ledger paper from Prima (lovely paper). For the backgrounds I used some brand new paper from MME (My Minds Eye). The paper was cut at 6" x 7" and I rounded the corners with my Creative Memories corner rounder (great buy!).
Lets look at the rest of the design: The flower is from Prima with a Karen Foster jumbo brad in the middle. The ribbon words (laughter, enjoy, happiness and delight) are from Making Memories. The tabs and scallop stickers are from Wild Asparagus. Ribbons from all over ...(Basic Grey, AMM, Lil'Davis and MME). the "love" letters are from Heidi Swapp. The fabric tabs from are from 7 Gypsies and finally the beautiful rub ons are from MME (Bohemia range).
Oh yes before I forget the butterfly is from Martha Stewart craft website. I will post more details on her site later.....just look under paper crafts if you want this template.
So have fun...this is a nice theme you can also scrap on the Making Memories cubes...or just make a little fold out card.
For those of you that love to use stitching on your creations - I think that it will look beautiful on this type of design.
Beautiful banner!!! Love the aqua and red together!

Love you banner. Where do you get all your lovely product from? I'm battling to find any new scrapbooking stuff.... Do you use PSE or PS? I'm trying to work out if PSE will be worth getting or if I need to motivate for the whole thing. Did your mom ever get to making that quilt?
